Captain Orso Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 (edited) So the AI P-51's are landing 2 at a time now  ... sometimes  Well, they try to land 2 at a time, but the nr. 2 a/c doesn't actually try to land for himself. He seems to lock in behind and to the right of the lead. If he's somewhat below the lead, he'll maintain that height disadvantage and actually touch down before the lead a/c, even if it means touching down before the runway  If the nr. 2 is higher that the lead, once the lead touches down, he's too afraid to continue his descent, will maintain that altitude above the runway and then peal off and go around, even if he's only about 10 - 20 feet above the ground and has 2 km of runway ahead of him. Most of the time they take about 4 go-arounds until they even line up with the runway properly enough that they don't bread off. They seem to be completely erratic at times, suddenly jerking off to the left or right, only to turn back in the other direction, and erratically lowering and raising the undercarriage. If I saw a player acting like this I'd think he was extremely drunk. :D It seems that there is a very small envelope where they have to be for them not to break off, but they do a very poor job of finding the entrance to that envelope. I've attached 2 different missions and a trk from the second (unfortunately forgot to save the trk from the first, but you can just run the mission and watch the follies as well), and the TacView files from both missions. PS this is with open beta before today's (2018-Oct-12) update.P-51 Landing Test 01.mizP-51 Landing Test 02.mizP-51 AI Landing Test 02.trkTacview-20181012-215359-DCS-P-51 Landing Test 01.zip.zipTacview-20181012-223143-DCS-P-51 Landing Test 02.zip.zip Edited October 12, 2018 by Captain Orso When you hit the wrong button on take-off System Specs.
