How does custom aircraft skins work if I want to upload my mission?

As title says, if I want to upload any mission I make in the future, where I've used custom skins (like VFA-94 and VFA-22 for the F/A-18C for instance), I should duly mention this in any description of the upload, but if a end user does not download said skins will there be some sort of prompt/error that something is missing and will the mission load at all and just have the Hornets revert to a random skin?

If the user doesn't have the selected skins installed, it will simply load the standard-skin of the Hornet.

If the person does not have a custom skin, it reverts to a default skin for that particular aircraft. Probably best if you provide a link to the custom skin in the description for the upload or readme for the mission so people can choose to download it or not.
