In my X52 Pro, I programmed the rotary switch for zooming. The problem is every time I going to type a text appears "*" or "/". Is there a way to programming the zoom with the rotaries inside DCS?

Thanks!

I tried to use rotaries for zoom in x52 pro but didn't like it (prefer to use 5 step zoom with a slider), but it should work if you set three bands in joystick software.

Assign keystrokes (* and /) to upper and lower bands and leave central one unassigned.

This way if rotary is in central band position, no input is sent, and you only get zoom action/keystrokes when it's in one of other two bands.

It also helps if you make the central band bigger then the other two.

Go to the DCs control setup screen and select axis. Find zoom and press add.

Rotate the rotary knob and it should accept the input.

Using the rotary as a zoom function has one small caveat, at some positions the screen will flicker and you need to adjust the zoom ever so slightly to get rid of the jitters.

Hope that helps.

Try it out, but I found flickering too annoying.

problem with rotary

Hey guys maybe you can help...you seem to have some knowledge about the x52. I have been trying to program the rotaries 1 and 2 . I thought i had it and they show up on the screen as programmed but when i look at it in the Logitech programming the slider isn't moving as i go from center to clockwise or counter.

how are you trying to program them, as an axis or as bands with keystrokes assigned to each end?

As axis...should I be doing it with bands?

Up to you, but with axis you will get flicker mentioned earlier. It's worth trying both to see what suits you best.

But if you have set rotary as axis in Logitech software, you should be able to assign it in Axis section of controls set up.

In Logitech software you should not see any movement or anything like it, it will just get highlighted when you rotate the ring.
