Fishbed-21 Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 Hi all, according to the manual: After that the image will disappear and the radar should get back to stand-by mode automatically. If this does not happen or if the radar won’t enter test mode (e.g. you pressed TEST before the radar warmed up), press the CANCEL button (CM52), wait another few minutes and try again. So after testing the radar it should back in stand-by mode (black screen) if it is correctly warmed up. If its not, it should display the radar screen without the TDC. Or it shouldnt start the test at all. (Which one is modeled in dcs?) Anyway now if turn the radar into standby from off (so i start the warmup) and i immediately (or before the 3-5 minutes of warmup) start the test, it will result as a valid test (radar turn back into stb mode). I'm running last openbeta version. Thanks! Pain is weakness leaving your body... Frederf Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 I get power, set radar standby and immediately do self test and it dutifully completes the test and returns to no display. There is no situation where the radar is in standby that it cannot do the complete self test cycle as normal. Don't know what the real set does when self-test when not fully ready. It probably depends on which part isn't ready yet.

It probably depends on which part isn't ready yet. But according to the manual it should be different from what you said. It clearly states that the radar shouldnt return to standby or dont start the selftest at all. What is wrong? The manual? Or the behaviour modeled in dcs? Frederf Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 I remember previous version self-test would only succeed if radar was ready to operate. Current behavior is changed from before.
Fishbed-21 Posted December 4, 2018 Author Posted December 4, 2018 I remember previous version self-test would only succeed if radar was ready to operate. Current behavior is changed from before. Yes exactly, it used to fail the selftest if the radar wasn't properly warmed up. Now it always succeed Pain is weakness leaving your body...
