GGTharos
Currently, AWACS reports BRAA: Bearing Range Altitude Aspect, from ownship. The desired format is BRAASIT: Bearing: From ownship Range: From ownship Altitude: Of contact Aspect: WRT ownship (hot, cold, flanking) Speed: Of contact (actual speed) Identification: Type of aircraft if known (Information collected by RWR, ORBAT, flight profile - so type could be as vague as 'possible striker' or 'helicopter' to as accurate as 'MiG-29') Track: Of target (track west, east, north, etc) A similar report for bullseye, adding the 'SIT' part to the existing report, and 'gorilla' for very large groups. Also, change the group reporting criteria: Currently, AWACS treats the 'game group' as a group. Instead, it should attempt to report 'groups' or aircraft that are within 3nm of each other, and have similar speed/altitude/track. This would capture a 4-ship wall as a single group (total width could be 8-10nm, aircraft within 3nm of each other and heading in similar direction, speed, and altitude) even if in-game it was designed as 4 separate flights/groups. This result in a more realistic group report. For bonus points, the AWACS could ID the type of tactical formation: wall, trail, echelon, gorilla (huge cloud of aircraft), or 'close formation' if people are flying close. Include a distance parameter for reporting criteria, either/or automatic or selectable through the communications menu (picture calls and bogie dope calls): I want to know only about aircraft: Within a certain distance from me Within a certain distance from bullseye Within a certain distance from my AOR (Area Of Responsibility, which can be fixed or moving ... eg. aircraft escort or moving vehicle - think zone but must be able to define as polygon). Bonus: I want to know of any aircraft that appears to intend to enter my AOR, ie. if its 3 minute intercept vector falls inside by AOR consistently (don't report some aircraft that's just performing a turn).
