crowebar Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 I use a single sensor, I have unscrewed the base and fixed the sensor to the back of my monitor so the sensor head sits just above the top edge of the monitor with enough space to allow pivoting. I fixed it to the back using the readily available sticky back plastic cable clips bought from hardware stores. They sell one large enough to fit around the sensor stand stem. I placed mind a couple of inches in from the left edge and have no problems with this setup when flying, day or night. eaglecash867 Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 The second sensor improves tracking at longer distances. If you're within 3 to 5 feet of your sensor, there's no benefit to a second sensor. Outside that distance, a second sensor makes a lot of difference. sea2sky Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 One thing I'm going to miss is paper checklists. I normally fly with then in front of me. Stuff like approach charts. I still use a physical kneeboard, and look at it through a nose gap. i5-9600K@4.8GHz ★ 32Gb DDR4 ★ rtx5070ti ★ Quest Pro ★ Warthog on Virpil base
FragBum Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Coming back to the topic now ... :music_whistling: If it helps, for my Oculus Rift I am using only 1 sensor that is located 30 cm left and 50cm in front of me, at a level 30 cm above the desk surface. I have the same good results in position and movement detection when using one single sensor. I see no improvement when using 2 sensors. As I am not using the hand controllers, there is no need for 2 sensors. Kind regards, TOViper I've run pretty much this setup for nearly 2 years works perfectly for DCS. Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment. Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above.
