ECM Switch without DECM Pod

In all the training missions I've run so far, if using air start, the ECM switch is always set to STBY, and since the DECM pod is not installed, this causes the 'CW NO GO' and 'P NO GO' warning lights

in the 'Warning/Caution/Advisory Light Panel' to be asserted, and remain asserted, even after the ECM switch is turned to OFF.

 

If the DECM pod is not installed, there is no reason to have the ECM switch turned anywhere but OFF --at least that's how I understand it.
