On a apachie helo the tail rotor keeps the helo from torqing around.On B,S, it has 2 rotors to keep it from spinning around.

My queston is,in BS will this mean you will not have to keep the helo from spinning.Would it hover with out useing the controls,to keep it from spinning.Sorry about the way I exsplaned this.Thanks:D

Absolutely not. I'm not sure how much detail has been placed into the AFM for the BS for hovering flight (quite a lot I should think), but the lack of a tail rotor will not make the Helicopter hover all by itself... you may have less pedal input with collective adjustments, but you'll still be balancing on a pinhead. The testers will be able to comment further...

In a perfect world, yes.

 

However . . . the world's not quite perfect and there are further complications involved, only some of which I understand.

 

Bottom line is that it will very nearly hover without yaw input, but not perfectly. But hey, there's an auto-hover mode anyway . . . .

 

 

Also remember that no helicopter will transition to a hover just by returning the controls to neutral, and maintaining a hover generally requires constant control input . . . . as you'd expect when you're balancing ten tons of helicopter on a single point ;)
