Discord drops DCS framerate to 30 FPS

I've been fighting an issue where when ever I run Discord the frame rate drops to a locked 30 FPS and I can't figure out why. If I don't run discord I get a solid 60 FPS with Vsync enabled.

 

I've seen an article from last year but nothing recently. I've tried disabling hardware acceleration, in game overlays etc. but that didn't seem to help. Anyone else have this issue?

Have you tried deinstalling Discord with all its hidden folders in App Data etc..

 

I'd do that first.

 

Since it's a unique thing to your rig, it's gotta be a squirk somewhere, I think...

 

..and then reinstall a fresh copy...

Thanks for the reply. It doesn't seem to be only discord, but anything that might take focus away from DCS, like TrackIR or input. I do a set routine before going into multi-player now which seems to be working...but still not sure the root cause.

 

-Launch Apps (Discord, TRackIR, and minimize. Close any unnecessary programs like Logitech mouse gaming software in systray.)

- Launch DCS and run an instant action (hands off controls, Comms, and TrackIR recenter.)

- If it goes in at 30 FPS, close DCS, relaunch and repeat same as above ad it seems to work. Gotta be a program or something specific to my setup. Thanks again.
