Airmage Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Hi, just got new rig installed and moving to install DCS now. Need to know what version i should download since i want to go multiplayer. What version are servers using these days (it's been a long time for me)?
Jumbik Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Go with 2.5 stable. Do, or do not, there is no try. -------------------------------------------------------- Sapphire Nitro+ Rx Vega 64, i7 4790K ... etc. etc.
Deano87 Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Except all the good servers run 2.5 Beta... lol Proud owner of: PointCTRL VR : Finger Trackers for VR -- Real Simulator : FSSB R3L Force Sensing Stick. -- Deltasim : Force Sensor WH Slew Upgrade -- Mach3Ti Ring : Real Flown Mach 3 SR-71 Titanium, made into an amazing ring. Jumbik Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Except all the good servers run 2.5 Beta... lol The version are now synchronized. Both stable and beta have the same version. I would not advise new/returning players to jump into beta right away. Servers that run on beta are those that mainly follow F-18C development closely. If he then decides to stay on a server which will update to a new beta version, he can switch very easily without downloading the game again anyway. Do, or do not, there is no try. -------------------------------------------------------- Sapphire Nitro+ Rx Vega 64, i7 4790K ... etc. etc.
REDEYE_CVW-66 Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Me and everyone I know in the DCS community are permanently in beta. Most popular servers run it, and you get the new stuff and fixes asap. It might give you a bug here and there, but you can still get that in stable as well.
Airmage Posted February 21, 2019 Author Posted February 21, 2019 Well, i thought about all the oppinions and installed both of them...
Jumbik Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Well, i thought about all the oppinions and installed both of them... You do not have to. You can switch your installation to a different build by simple cmd command or with utility. Look here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053 No need to have two different installations on your PC. Do, or do not, there is no try. -------------------------------------------------------- Sapphire Nitro+ Rx Vega 64, i7 4790K ... etc. etc.
