fitness88 Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 Why would there be 2 of the same name sound files but with different file associations, example afterburner.ogg and afterburner.wav? In the old days not everyone had the program to open both like they do today. Thank you.
I_Gamer Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 By default; DCS loads .ogg files before .wav if no “ogg” file is found. Unless they’re in different directories, there’s no reason why both are there - if your game is vanilla. - - - - - - - - Tyler "Shadow" All things sound @ Echo 19 Audio linktr.ee/echo19audio

I see a mix of .ogg and .wav files throughout, what you say makes sense about not having the same names in both formats in 1 folder but I have a couple. In the early years most sound folders had both formats for the same sound file because as I mentioned some couldn't open one or the other. Thanks for the info.
