Ship radar jamming?

Hi all.

 

I have been enjoying the Viggen for the last several days. Very fun aircraft. Love looking for ships on the radar and using the anti ship missiles. But there is one mission that I am having trouble with. There is a Russian Moskva Guided Missle Cruiser I am supposed to sink with the RB-15F. However, I can not pick this guy up on my radar. I even cheated and used the F10 map to see where he was and he is directly in front of me, within range and I can't pick him up at all. Tried changing radar elevation, played with the radar gain. Nothing seems to work. First time I have come across this as I have used the radar several times already to find and target ships.

 

Curious if it's something with the ship perhaps, as I read it has quite a powerful ECM package in real life. Anyways, figured i'd ask here before I give up on the mission.

Jamming shows as a dark scrambled line in your radar screen - which kinda points you in a right direction anyway. What's your altitude & distance from the ship?

hey rainy. altitude was 300. distance was anywhere from 60km all the way up to 10km before I got splashed by missile. just was odd as the ship was in visual range, right in front of me. i will put it up to a bug as a flew another mission and all was well. was picking up ships on the 120km and 60km radar no problem.

I am not sure at what point Viggen's radar should burn through Moskva's jamming, but couldn't you release the missiles in bearing only (NAV) mode?
