Infiltrator Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 I currently have an Asus X99 Deluxe board with a 5280K CPU. My card is a GTX 1080 and I have 32Gb of DDR4 and a NVMe SSD. I'd like to upgade to a Gigabyte Aorus Master Z390 board and a 9900K CPU, but before I shed out over £750 I'd like to at least know what improvements I'm going to see over my existing build. Will I just see faster loading times and increased FPS or will I see more benefits? BitMaster Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 With the same GPU you will likely not see much difference unless your 1080 wont get past 80% usage, which I doubt. In that case, you could get it to 100% full tilt usage and gain 20% fps. Imho, keep it a little longer and get a Ryzen 3000 with speculated real 5.1GHz and 16 cores for less or the same money. That will still not improve fps if your GPU is the bottleneck but makes much more sense than Intel's nuclear reactor.
