[No Bug] Salvo flares switch not stopping when snapping back to OFF

Recommended Posts

from the manual:

SALVO FLARES switch

Enables parallel rapid firing of all flares while held in ON. Switch needs to be lifted to move to ON position.

What happened:

Flipped switch to ON momentarily and let it snap back to OFF.

All flares were shot out over the course of some seconds.

What I expected:

Some flares to shoot out and to stop immediatly after switch snapped back.

Thanks for reporting this, deadpool.

Actually, the switch initiates rapid firing of all flares but it won't stop releasing it when you return the switch to OFF. We're changing the manual now to remove the information that it happens as long as the switch is held in the ON position. It should be available with the next update of the manual.

I hope you're enjoying the F-14.

Best regards

I just reviewed my videos and managed to home in on this one.

If the PWR/MODE switch is set to OFF, the SALVO FLARES button to on will release a single duo of flares and not deplete fully.

Also I think I managed to fire a single chaff with PRGM switches when the whole AN/ALE-39 is turned off by means of the PWR/MODE switch.
