bell_rj Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 For about the third time in two hours I've got my Tomcat into a flat spin. I think Jester is starting to hate me. I haven't worked out exactly how I'm doing this but it seems to be related to high alpha at low speed. Spin recovery seems impossible but that isn't helped by me watching the spin in F3 view - it looks very cinematic - rather than doing my pilot thing. Don't really care - as the popular song goes.... "Everything is Awesome". PC specs:
electricaltill Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 I got myself into a spin at about 40,000 feet earlier so I had plenty of time to try Jabbers' advice for recovery! Idle throttles, rudder against the spin, throttle up the engine opposing the spin (port engine for an a/c spin) until the nose drops, then equalise the throttles and stick to pull out of the dive. Do not use this advice to complete an F-14 check ride, my recollections are hazy!
bell_rj Posted March 14, 2019 Author Posted March 14, 2019 Ah, thank you! I was just wondering what the steps would be for recovering. I will try your/Jabber's instructions! PC specs:
