Hey all. I just did a mission and had an AIM-54 shot I found odd.

Is it possible that DCS doesn't check for collision often enough for the AIM-54's speed? (Mach 2.6)

I remember a Wags post about issues like this a little while back, so is that what I'm seeing?

For the sake of completeness, the shot was from ~20NM, so the motor had probably gone out only a few seconds before the "impact."

Shot with PDSTT.

Good to know the guidance is accurate, though.

It could be multiple things depending on how its coded. If there was some glitch in the warhead causing it to not go off it's possible that the missile itself is not coded to be a physical object that can interact with the environment unless exploded. Just my 2 cents.
