[KNOWN ISSUE] Nuclear strike mission IP, Target points missing?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi, so I've been trying the included missions, and the mission where you have to bomb the nuclear reactor I've noticed that the initial point and surface target steer points are missing.

Is this a bug or do I have to set these up myself?

If it is not a bug, then the briefing for the mission should be changed to let you know that you should set up your IP and TP steer points by yourself.

So, I don't own the PG map, but I casually checked the Caucasus reactor strike mission and no Tomcat-specific wayponts are set there. I suspect that to be the case in the Iranian mission, too and think that HB should fix the mission for release version and add IP, ST and EP.

Clearly it's a bug. The briefing shows those waypoints but they're not programmed in the INS. Someone forgot to add them is all.

Easy to do yourself using F10 and Jester, but the mission will probably be fixed in the future.

Actually it is a bit more complex: IP, ST and EP programmed in Mission Editor are only ready on the go when starting hot or in the air.

When starting from cold and dark, they have to be entered *in the mission*, either by Jester, a human RIO or swapping into the back. Please refer to this post from Super Grover:

The quickest way is to enter them on the F10 map, make sure they are named correctly, you can then import them using the Jester menu. There's a great video on how to do this from Spudknocker:

Yeah, that is all fine and dandy, but if you correctly set them in the Mission Editor, they are also on the kneeboards, which is fine for a human RIO :D
