flavnet Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 (edited) Hello Sky Folks!! In the training mission in which it is necessary to take off from the aircraft carrier, after aligning the aircraft to the catapult rail, it is not possible to activate the nose strut switch and, therefore, it is not possible to take off! I tried to stop the plane both in front of the catapult hook and behind it, but the problem remained. I would appreciate a little help. Thanks in advance. Edited April 13, 2019 by IronMike
A101Wayz Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 (edited) Once you're lined up on the catapult with the nosewheel just behind the shuttle, you need to compress the nosewheel strut. There is a switch just to the left of the Landing Gear lever - labeled "STRUT". flip it down and hold it until the nose of the plane drops. (you can see it dropping by looking out the canopy while holding the switch down)... Once the strut is compressed, press "U" to hook up to the catapult, you're ready to go. OnlyforDCS Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 As A101Wayz already mentioned, press and HOLD the strut switch until the aircraft fully "kneels" down. Also make sure your are lined up as straight as possible before hooking up. ("U" key).
