Cannot assign AWACs command to buttons

For some strange reason the "AWACS Request Bogey Dope" line in the control setup does not allow any buttons to be set, just the keystroke.

 

The other radio shortcut commands are fine, and can be assigned to buttons.

NO F-18 mods are loaded.
