PhilTheBeat Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 (edited) Hi, i'm new on DCS. I've been watching the refueling tutorial done by maverick on the F14 .So after that i've tried to make my on refueling mission : 2 TANKERS escorting by two F14 and 5 at SOLCHI on "cold start" The cold start process works perfectly. On the mission editor the TACAN frequency is set to 64 (064 on the 2 TANKERS). HERE IS MY MISTAKE ! ONE FREQUENCY FOR THE TWO TANKERS DOESN'T WORK The problem is that the TACAN doesn't work properly i think. Somethink i'm missing somewhere. On the plane the Tacan settings: light turn green after a while and turn off after few seconds (X, A/A selected) In the mission editor: Here is the link of the mission file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/c98mma9qij64xxl/M2000C%20F14%20REFUEL.miz?dl=0 WARNING: maybe the tacan in the mission is not 64. I've change it to 64 after upoloading it ; i think. Your help is welcome ;) PROBLEM SOLVED READ LAST POST Edited March 28, 2019 by PhilTheBeat I7 4770K / 1080 TI / 16GB RAM / VR Q2 / 3X IIYAMA 27 / T.16000M FCS TWCS / TRACK IR PRO A-10C II / F/A18 C / F-14 / F16-C / M-2000C / F-86F Sabre / C-101 / SPITFIRE LF / P-51D / FW 190 D-9 / FW 190 A-B / Bf 109 K-4 CHRISTEN EAGLE II / YAK-52 / UH-1H Huey / SA 342 CHANNEL MAP / NEVADA / NORMANDY / PERSIAN / SYRIA / SUPERCARRIER / TAKE OFF FRANCE.FR

A101Wayz Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 I believe that airborn TACANs need to be set to 'Y' as well as 'A-A'. So, in your case, '64Y'. Barbarossa Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 @ PhilTheBeat: You have to wait some minutes to see data on your TID display and, I think, you have to fly (I'v never set TACAN A/A channel when I still on ground.) My Specs: Win 11 64bit, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D @ 4,2GHz, 64 GB, Radeon RX7900 XTX, 500GB + 2000GB SSD
PhilTheBeat Posted March 27, 2019 Author Posted March 27, 2019 Another Maverick video. On this one, he´s editing a mission and adding a tacan on a carrier ...He also add a trigger on it to activate the tacan after 5 seconds the mission start ... So i´ll try that and let you know (fingers crossed it will work) ${1} I7 4770K / 1080 TI / 16GB RAM / VR Q2 / 3X IIYAMA 27 / T.16000M FCS TWCS / TRACK IR PRO A-10C II / F/A18 C / F-14 / F16-C / M-2000C / F-86F Sabre / C-101 / SPITFIRE LF / P-51D / FW 190 D-9 / FW 190 A-B / Bf 109 K-4 CHRISTEN EAGLE II / YAK-52 / UH-1H Huey / SA 342 CHANNEL MAP / NEVADA / NORMANDY / PERSIAN / SYRIA / SUPERCARRIER / TAKE OFF FRANCE.FR

PhilTheBeat Posted March 28, 2019 Author Posted March 28, 2019 (edited) Hi, problem solved. The issue was that i set the TWO TANKERS with the same TACAN channel (x064) So now one is on 64 and the other on 65 and everything work perfectly ;) Basics thing need to be known first..... :D:D I go back to learn ..... Habu_69 Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 I believe that airborn TACANs need to be set to 'Y' as well as 'A-A'. So, in your case, '64Y'. In DCS either X or Y TACAN mode will function correctly for aircraft; however, in US military, AFAIK, refueling aircraft are assigned Y mode.
