Thrustmaster Open Sim Setup

Hello All,

 

 

Noob DCS pilot here and I just finished my "Open Pit."

 

 

Took an open approach to the simpit although I don't know if you can call it a "pit." I'm taller than most and a pit comfortable enough to fit me would have needed its own room.

 

 

 

I still have cable dressing to do but wanted to post to see if any of you vet simpitters had any suggestions before I nail everything down. The 2 MCFD's are wall mounted on a dual monitor stand. I used 2 Eyoyo 8 inch LCD monitors behind heat formed ABS plastic. The Alienware 34inch display is wall mounted as well. Wheel Stand Pro and Thrustmaster everything. Thinking about the stick adapter so I can remove the TM plate from Wheel Stand Pro but I found I like putting my headset on it when not in use. What am I missing guys? Suggestions most welcome!

Looks great! I only have three suggestions.

 

 

 

One, you already mentioned, remove that Warthog stick plate. It'll allow you to get much closer and more comfortable.

 

 

Two, I'd consider adding a third MFD and screen and possibly a programmable keypad (X-Keys, Genovation, etc) to act as a UFC. I'd go that route before getting something aircraft-specific since you could change the layout based on what you're flying.

 

 

 

Three, I'd try to find a way to put that Keyboard on the left side. If you need to use it while flying, it'd be much easier to do so without taking your hand off the stick.

Thanks Jared, No room for the keyboard on the left although I see exactly why you say that. I like the UFC suggestion,I didn't think about that.
