BarTzi Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 (edited) Like most modern planes, the Hornet will account for wind while deploying high drag bombs. However, the plane still calculates the affects of wind on the bomb trajectory while 'drag' is set to FF (clearly visible by the CCIP line tilting sideways). Correct me if I'm wrong here, but if the retardation kit on the MK82 SE is set to off (FF), shouldn't it drop like a normal Mk82 bomb? Shouldn't the plane provide a normal CCIP solution in that case? (If that's true, the provided solution is wrong and does not provide the necessary information to use the bomb without deploying the kit). The track provided shows a slightly windy day at the gulf. Comparing the provided solutions for both high and low drag MK82's ('drag' was never changed from 'FF' to 'RET' in this sortie, so the kit should not deploy).High drag vs low drag.trk Edited March 31, 2019 by BarTzi
