Hey all.

Has anybody else noticed when you activate either altitude hold mode or the ACLS the autopilot uses pretty huge movements to intercept, often overcorrecting. I've engaged altitude hold while I was in a fairly gentle climb and the autopilot has buried the nose suddenly and then overshot through the altitude I activated it at and then came back up and slowly captured it. Similar thing happened with ACLS, I was slightly low and slightly left of track and I activated the autopilot and the jet rolled hard right while pulling to intercept.

I know the AP needs to do something to get onto an initial line up but it just seems a bit more eager then I expected lol.

Victory, How realistic to the real jet is this?

Best thing to do is make sure that you are exactly where you want the aircraft to be before activating auto pilot. IRL they can act fairly weird as well.
