Store select switches

The store select switches on the RIO's armament panel, do they have to be selected for weapon employment?

Not for A2A no. The pilot selects the weapons up front. There are missile mode functions in the back however no station needs to be selected for A2A employment in the back.

 

The only time you need to select the stations is for A2G, if the pilot tries to drop a bomb in A2G mode without the RIO selecting the station in the back the weapon won't release.
