nighthawk2174 Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 Concerning the F14 is it accurate that it can't go from RWS to an STT lock? Every other US jet can do this. From my understanding RWS should provide the requisite amount of info (range, azimuth, and can quickly grab elevation).
lunaticfringe Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 You need to adjust the elevation using the vernier control while at half action to find the target when making the swap to STT. The return is only maintained two seconds, so you have to manually adjust the elevation if you don't peg it as soon as the return hits the DDD.

If you are in RWS and get a target on the TID you will also se the dot in the DDD. I just STT-lock the target from there if you see a contact in RWS. Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk

You just can't do that on the TID (which is an SA display, not a radar display). You have to do that on your actual radar display which is the DDD. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
