LASER shift, terminate, spot

Hi folks,

 

Since I don't find anything in the F-5 manual, I give the forum a try on this.

 

How do the JTAC radio-commands "SPOT", "TERMINATE", and "SHIFT" work?

 

1.) What is their purpose?

2.) When exactly do I need them?

Edit: one time JTAC told me the laser was SHIFTED, but the next bomb hit the same target as before.
