Hey fellas,

from time to time, I encounter something strange. I'm quite sure Jester hates me and ignores that my carrier landings have improved.

After some landings, he says "bolter, bolter..." even if I really did catch a wire. And sometimes, he doesn't react at all (landing callouts are enabled). In each of those cases, the kneeboard doesnt show neither the wire I caught, nor how my approach was.

Is that a bug or did I just land so smoothly that Jester didn't notice? ;)

Hook skip bolters (and hook damage) aren't properly modeled yet but Jester seems to be able to pick up when your AOA is off enough to have gotten one. They're coming, so just remember that when Jester calls bolter but you've landed successfully you probably won't be doing that in the future. Right now F-14 carrier landings are super forgiving, you can catch a wire at crazy angles and speeds that you shouldn't be able to.

If you're not seeing it in the kneeboard you likely didn't push the throttle all the way to mil after catching the hook. If your speed break is still out, you didn't do it right. Remember after catching a wire, throttle to MIL for 4 seconds, then back to idle.

Good to know about the hook skips!

After touching down, I always retract the airbrake, but I push the throttle up to zone 5 AB, maybe that's the reason. But isn't it possible that the kneeboard ignores those hook skip bolters, too?
