hi everyone :), i,m in great need of your help:helpsmilie:

well, the best i can describe my issue is that sometimes, randomly, my game will freeze for something like 30 seconds. in order to get it working again, I do CTRL+ALT+SUPPR and task manager and it will then work (though not everytime, but i guess its more time that fixes the game, not clicking everywhere:noexpression:...) and it is very VERY annoying. plus, the small nvidia icon in the bottom right corner shows that recording has been stopped (and once again, not everytime...)

here are my specs if you need it: RTX2060, AMD ryzen 7 2700, 16 GB RAM, DCS is on a nearly full SSD (i installed it on the SSD because i thought it would solve the issue, which was also occuring on the HDD, but it did not...)

if you need more info to help me I will try to answer ASAP

thank you, you are saving me

A almost full SSD is not good, neither way.

If it is your sole drive it is bad in general, fix it by buying another SSD and split OS + APPS/GAMES

You can clean the drive with oboard Win10 tools and maybe get 20-50GB back, you can delete some System Restore Points and if enabled, you can disable Hibernation and save another 16GB on your Sys-drive. Those are quick fixes that only get you that far, best would be a 2nd SSD I guess.

32GB RAM is also welcome if you game & record or stream. No bad idea at all tbh.

Hey,

thanks for the reply, i have to add that i just play and do not stream but my NVIDIA is activated anyways. and the crash/freeze occurs with small and large missions so i hope Ram is not the problem :(

i heard and agreed that dcs on a full SSD is not good, but it was a "test" to see if it would be any better. bit better loading times though... while waiting for a new SSD, would you recommend to re-install it on my HDD?

and i can add that the random freeze also occurs on rainbow six siege ... but only on these two games, I absolutely don't know

thanks for the reply :smilewink:

Which OS, which version ( "winver" command tells you ) and how much free space ?

Back to HDD is the very last option, really not imho.

SSD's are cheap, for 50-80€ you get 256GB ones that are x-times faster than any HDD.

* if it said "stopped recording" you did record something. My tip, permanently DEINSTALL Nvidia Experience and try again. It is a great tool if you need it but an anchor on your foot if you dont need it. Away with it if you dont record.

windows 10, version 1809 (17763.503) and *crying*15 Go remaining...

and concerning NVIDIA it never told me stopped recording, only the small icon on the bottom right that shows two vertical bars (the stop sign)

With only 15GB left things get hairy :(

Thing is, GFE has an option ( and that might be it, your trouble maker ) that always records the last few minutes ( default I think is 5min ) of your gameplay. That alone could almost fill your disk

to a point that the OS struggles to stay alive.

Deinstall GFE and try again. Tho it wont cure the 15GB problem it may still help for now.
