So i recently lost 5 hours of my life scratching my head at code for activating late activated units (specifically via coalition.addGroup) to find that crosswinds can stop AI taxiing completely.

It was only when I saw difference in multiple airbases that i considered wind direction for runway heading may be the cause. Turned out at 8m/s absolutely x-wind, AI will not taxi when spawned. I believe, but I did not test, it's merely the cross wind component across the runway. So if you are three quarters into the wind, you should manage up to 16m/s.

Most simple missions are single airbase. With global weather and wind in DCS, using the entire Caucasus map gives you lost of different directions to consider. There is no real N-S runways, most are E-W and altering 30 degrees from that. But you will see the default wind direction is North, thus, Caucasus get's hit early by crosswind issues, esp Beslan.

Recommend people pay attention to this so as not to lose sleep about why something didn't take off. Make Caucasus wind East-West and don't go much over 10m/s at ground level for AI ground starts.
