Good morning,

just starting with Lomac, i have the flaming Cliffs with update.

I "use" the above hardware, but have difficulty to set it up.

1. I have foxy (latest) , i want to use nicolaas files. how to do this

2. I have track irpro, i use hatclip, i know i have to delete the config. ini files, but i think because the cougar is progammed to "look around" this is conflicting?

3. How do i setup the pedals in lomac.

I am already searching the forums, but can't find a good setup guide for this. Anyone with a simmilair setup? Trying already for a couple of hours, but can't seem to get it right......:helpsmilie:

Hope someone can guide me through.

many thanks,

rick

Hi there, first of all if you have all this hardware (Cougar, TrackIR and rudder pedals) setup and working you are already up and running. Setting up or personalising each one to your own liking will take a little time on your part testing what axis curves you like and feel good for your flying.

Now, since LockOn has Su-25T with AFM (advance flight model) ED resommends using all linear axis for your joystick (cougar x and y axis) and rudder peddals. The throttle should be linear by default.

When you fly Su-25T you should have cougar axis set to same (linear) but when you fly other non AFM aircraft some curvature should apply. I personally use -4 value in Cougar CCC for x, y and rudder axis with no dead zones. But like I said this is all personal and different people like different settings.

As to you saying you want to use someone elses tmm and tmj file (cougar emulation profile) I can't comment. You will just have to either learn how it is programmed once you load it into cougar memory, or learn how to programm in foxy and make one yourself to your liking.

TrackIR also takes time getting used to and finding the right profile for you. You might start of with default profile already provided and then tweak each axis the way you like it.

One thing I should note is TrackIR works best if the trackhat (those three reflecting strips) are pointing directly to TrackIR (meaning the hat you wear is level and in line vertically with TrackIR) Sorry but I don't know how to explain this better in words.

LockOn has 3 axis working for TrackIR and those are yaw, pitch and z.

thanks,

only problem i have now how to get Flaming cliffs use LOMAC_NICO profiles for 1.11 workin, i know we are already at 1.12 b, but these i found for use with tir. Until now i cannot load it with launcher (foxy). I just cannot get it to work. As always the couger hat switch ables me to look around, but this interrupts trackir.

I have deleted the tir files from input and config. Any more ideas???:pilotfly:

deleting tracki files from input and config folders is required so that trackir doesn't stop working while in game (which it does). if you use both Cougar that has HAT1 in use for looking around in cockpit and trackir, obviouly they are in conflict with each other (same as if you had 2 joysticks connected and both have x and y axis maped to control pitch and roll)

Either use Cougar to look around in cocpit or trackir, not both. Obviously you should not even think about this and decide to use trackir for this... therefore what you need to do is edit the cougar emulation profile and take out panning commands from HAT1 switch. in fact you don't need it at all so you might as well delete those from the profile completely.

This is why I always make my own cougar profile... I use what ever I think I need in game... and map it where I feel it suits me :D so my recommendation to you is learn how to program with foxy and make your own ;)
