Guys, tell me please, what's the difference between the default base of the Vkb MCG Pro and Gladiator Pro base ?!

Does the Gladiator base use the same, springs / cams, as the Vkb MCG Pro ?

MCG/MCGPro are grips made for Gunfighter base, and they are normally used with these bases.

Difference between Gladiator base and Gunfighter base is huge, they belong to different leagues.

We do not recommend using MCG/MCGPro on Gladiator bases. KG12 - OK, Kosmosima- OK, MCG - not quite OK.

I already own the Vkb MCG Pro with the default base but I have some weird issues with it

I can't calibrate it right ( roll )

There are 2 springs on each axes, stronger and lighter

That's why I asked about base compatibility

Is your comment related to the base Gladiator or Gladiator PRO? I ask this because it would be strange for VKB not to recommend the use of MCG / MCG PRO in the base Gladiator PRO, which does not need modifications to be able to use it. :)

If by "MCG PRO base" you mean Gunfighter base: No, Gladiator PRO base is not better than Gunfighter base that came bundled with MCG and MCG PRO grips, without and with 20 cm extension. Gunfighter base is only one model.

 

 

Gunfighter base was developed after a case of Black Mamba user damage their gimbal adding 2 strong springs per axis + 20cm extension + 1 KG of Warthog grip. :joystick:

 

Notice that Mamba base already use metal box, obvious more reinforced than Gladiator PRO base made in plastic, since Gladiator PRO is just "vanilla" Gladiator with gimbal upgrade (CAM, metal). Seems inherit Mamba gimbal with some modifications.

Gunfighter gimbal (prototype, final version use Nylon clamps in "dry-cluth").

Gunfighter gimbal are more reinforced than Mamba/Gladiator PRO gimbal for better support for 20 cm extension and 2 strong springs per axis, damper ("dry-clutch") system and don't have USB controller inside, use the external "BlackBox", and yet, "people being people" in their "Quest for the Feel Simulator", things goes South. ;)

 

MCG PRO grip although listed compatible - what is, with Gladiator PRO base is not recommended for this base because this grip is more tall, and the greater leverage due this extra height will stress more the plastic case designed for KG-12A grip.

And this extra height of grip make their use less ergonomic in desktop, so fast someone will think in use extension for mid placement, worsening more the things for the poor plastic case... :)

 

Kosmosima grip is designed for desktop use, have the minimal height possible for a grip with multiple HAT's, being the recommended upgrade for Gladiator PRO - and "vanilla" with the (non realease yet) "X" upgrade.

 

BTW: We are talking in "recommend", not in "forbidden". ;)

I can't find the best " combination " of the 2 x springs per axis ( cams, as well )

I'd like to have it not too strong but not too loose

One more question, please : is it very important the position of both springs per each axes?

Nazgul,

 

Gladiator PRO "Mk.I" (although it is not called that way) difference for Gladiator PRO Mk.II (official name), is just an new trigger made in semi-flexible Policarbonate plastic in Mk.II to address the problem of broken trigger (<2%) in Gladiator/Gladiator PRO ("Mk.I"), and a new packing box with DCS logo.

After 3- 4 weeks, whatever I'm doing, I have issues with the joystick

I have to open the base, fix / replace / the springs and calibrate it again

Which springs ( 2 per axis ) do you use, guys?
