Placing Objects on Cargo Ships

I made a mission with some Russian Tankers and Dry Cargo Ships. Decided to add some Static Ammo and Bombs etc to them.

 

 

Thought it would be a good idea for a bombing target. Through everything at them but nothing exploded. Is there a way to do this or is it not possible?
