On my Carrier, Stennis, I seem to have some simple confusion regarding a simple geometry perhaps? I can set up my systems for case I or case III recoveries. Sitting on the deck I set my CRS CSEL to 355 degrees within the UFC for the Carrier's 500ft strip. But I wanted to see what would happen if I launched and from mid air in the Marshall and entered this. I did so and entered 355 and it took my CRS line to the moon. So I was able to still touch the deck (case I.), and after I hit deck. I then moved it to the 300 front straight off my nose manually trick. Then I observed that it was reading 266 degrees in the HSI's lower right.

So I tried it again in midair and just entered 266 and it basically gave me a decent CRS line recovery angle.

Is there more on the use of this useful function? I tried looking it up in Chuck's reading and Early access. I can't seem to find much on this. NATOPS ?... I'm still trying to figure out how to get from the table of contents to a given topic:doh:

Why can't they just simply list NATOPS by page?:music_whistling:

Alright .. any help or advice on using this function where ever I m in the sky to attempt to land on the mother ship would be helpful as I am "Ignant" :megalol:

Thanx

Case III's are getting fun! I can't wait for the USS Roosevelt CVN-71:thumbup:
