BULLITT83 Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Hi ! I'm using an arduino in my F14 simpit for switches and various lights ( flaps, gear , etc .. ) now i would like to bring radio frequencies in my cockpit on 7 digit display. I found a lots of you done it in their pit on the forum. But it seems very complex , did someone can explain me how he has done it , the theory, or do you have a good "how to " to advise me ? best regards
Muts Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 This is a good question. I have the same challenge for my A-10c Pit. Gesendet von meinem SM-A750FN mit Tapatalk 1
CraigS Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Hi, I did this video showing my (7 segment display) radio cluster for my A10C simpit. Might give a few ideas. Watch "Simpit A10C Radio Cluster Panel" on YouTube Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk
BULLITT83 Posted September 13, 2019 Author Posted September 13, 2019 Hi Muts, Hi Craigs , i will look at the video Craigs thanks , Muts i'll try to tell you if i manage to do something or understand something in a first step.
BULLITT83 Posted September 13, 2019 Author Posted September 13, 2019 Craigs, i ve a fast look at the video !!! very very very good job , !!! amazing ! i'm actually at theoffice , i need to look at your great video quietly at home at first look you build an interface between the arduino and the 7 digit display ?
CraigS Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Hi BULLITT83, Sitting in between the arduino and 7 segment displays are four MAX7219 modules. A lot of the wiring wouldn't have been needed, but I used larger green 7 segment displays rather than those that came with the modules. I'd approach a little differently if did over again but it's worked well and I've been using it for some time now. Good luck with your project, the video goes into a fair bit of detail so will hopefully get you started Cheers Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk
