Mirage 200C : 3-pos switch abstraction on Saitek X52 pro

Hello,

I feel stuck now with my Saitek x52 pro.

X52 does not have any position switch, it has only toggle buttons.

With the last Mirage2000C update, we need to map:

  • AA Gun Select vv
  • (else) PCA Select
  • MAGIC SELECT ^^

on a 3-Pos Switch.

Has someone found how to do that on a X52 ?

Is there a solution also to map that over keyboard keys ?

It would be easy to perform this by cycling with a toggle button...

I feel anxious of not being able to fly my Mirage 2000C anymore using my X52 pro.

Many thanks in advance.

What I used to do with the X-52 was to go into the mapping software and eliminate the shift colomns for mode 2, 3 as well as pinkie + 1, 2, 3. With that done, I could use the pinkie switch and the joystick's mode selector as buttons. In this case, mode one could be AA guns, mode 2 for PCA and mode 3 for Magic.

Of course, without modes and pinkie switch, you have to be a bit creative with the mapping, but the Mirage's HOTAS isn't full of hat switches, so its shouldn't be too bad.

You can use a HAT, like the one on the front face of the throttle.

Add AG Desigmate/ Magic Slave on the 4th position and you're good

@jojo Thanks, but this does not work since no position remains active once released. The problem is not that 3 positions are required, but that the position must remain activated... with the hat, the positions are relased as soon as you do not push them anymore....

Many thanks @Positron95, that looks like a real solution !

I had been thinking of using the mode selector, but I didn't succeeded...

I will let you know the result.

I mapped my X-55 in DCS World interface and I don't need to hold the command.

Hello Jojo,

Are you using the Open Beta last release ? (the one which leads to the problem)

In this release, there are only two commands defined as:

- AA Gun Select, else PCA SELECT 3-pos. Switch Abstractions

- MAGIC SELECT, else PCA SELECT 3-pos. Switch Abstractions

because when you release either one, the PCA SELECT state is automatically reset.

Ok, got it.

Yes, my open beta is up to date.

You're using the wrong command (3-Pos. Switch Abstratctions), these commands are for the lucky few who have a proper HOTAS to replicate Mirage 2000C functions.

EC 2/5 is using heavily modified Warthog with custom 3D printed stick and throttle.

Solution:

- choose HOTAS category

- use CNM AA gun/ CNM Magic/ CNM neutral (PCA select)

You are right Jojo !

I had not paid attention to the fact that our squadron leader was instructing us to use the capabilities of the expensive device he's got !

the CNM AA gun/ CNM Magic/ CNM neutral (PCA select) commands of the HOTAS category do the job properly while using the cheaper X52.

Thanks and best regards.
