All the autopilot modes can be overriden by enough force on the control stick or by depression of the autopilot emergency disengagement paddle, automatically resetting all autopilot switches to off.

Quick question on the AFCS operation. Is switching the Autopilot switch from engaged to off supposed to also disengage the solenoids for all autopilot switches? I know, as quoted above, the autopilot disconnect will do this. But that leads be to believe maybe the autopilot switch would not. I don't know, asking for clarification.

So to be clear, if I select autopilot engage with the switch, leaving me in attitude hold mode. And then I select say, ACL, but then disengage the autopilot switch (not the disconnect on the stick) should the rest of the autopilot switches return to their neutral positions?

I'm aware of that. I'm asking about the behavior of the switches.
