TEK,

may i ask you why you dind't choose the 14seg display also for the main and the CH1 and CH2 display instead the 7seg ?

Thanks

The Ch1 and 2 are 14 segment but only single digit and the 10's denoted by the decimal, and the scratchpad is 7 segment. This is all simply because of sizing. The 0.36" was just too large and would have had to push out the overall size too much. There is no manufacturer I can see of 0.28 14 or 16 segment displays they just can't seem to make them that small.

One thing I did look at was the  5 x 7 Green DLG series displays but they are rare and bloody expensive, but they would have suited the scratchpad perfectly.

The F18 hornet UFC Controller has had a revamp and is now available on backorder, the unit now comes with a custom LCD scratchpad and also custom Comm Channel displays to replicate the in game displays.

Currently starting the thought process on an upgrade path, but it is a new PCB to support the Comm displays, but I will look at whats reusable and offer a cheaper upgrade option, and maybe just a scratchpad upgrade.

@tekadept

Would you please share the platina stuff?
I don't have any clue of this electonic-stuff, but at least i could solder all together.
I just need a list of components and the platina-layout, so i can send it to a company to "print" it for me.
Actually I'm struggling with exact that stuff, because I don't know how to get those tiny switches etc. behind my UFC-frontplate...

Thank you and greetings

@tekadept  How do you keep the switch caps in place and "pushed" to the surface.  It appears you have SMT momentary switches mounted with very little stem height to secure the caps to the switches.  Just curious?

It is a captive middle acrylic layer where the button holes are slightly larger than the top that keeps the keys down so they don't come up.
