system black screen/freezes

Hi,

I am not sure if this problem has been discussed to death before. Atleast, I am unable to find something using search function.

 

OS: Windowx XP x64

Graphics: X1900XT 512 MB

Processor: E6600 Intel

 

Black screen problem: I see a black screen and my system gets unresponsive for a few minutes while flying.

 

Freezing: My computer freezes while I am working with Mission editor.

 

Is it problem because I am using x64? (LockOn engine is not compatible with x64?)

 

Mind you: I don't have such problems with other games at all (which are pretty graphics heavy games like COD4, Il-2, World in Conflict, Crysis)

okies, no intention to bump the post but here is the solution I found (hopefully)

 

Right click on lockon.exe, disable visual theme and set it to Windows XP compatibility mode.

 

It is working so far
