Hardware for DCS 4K?

I'm planning a hardware-update for flying the F-18 in 4K, no VR for now.

 

 

 

What FPS (Vegas/Dubai full details) is realistic with this parts (w/o overclocking):

 

 

i7-9700k (maybe AMD Ryzen?)

 

rtx 2070 super

32gb RAM

SSD M.2

I'm running r5 3600 with 2070s @1080p and I have to tone down settings from max in order to enjoy for example Dubai at 60fps. So you can kind of figure how well that card will perform at 4k maxed. As there were no answers I thought you could gather something about my experience, as I cannot answer precisely on the fps you could get but I'd wager it would be around 30fps if even that.

CPU wise you should be good but I wouldn't get your hopes up with the GPU unless you were to turn down eye candy settings quite a bit. I was able to hit 4K @ 60fps in single player with a liquid cooled and overclocked Titan Xp with FXAA forced in the Nvidia driver. But judging by this benchmark you might be able to push 4K at medium to high settings. IIRC I had to turn off global cockpit illumination and MSAA was definitely a no go.

Keep in mind that is a synthetic benchmark. YMMV in DCS and performance can vary based on game and drivers.

This is what i think,

 

More fps means more load on CPU.

More pixels means more load on GPU.

 

I am getting 60-100fps in my system for single player, (i7, 16GB RAM, 2080 Ti).

CPU usage is around 40-60%, GPU usage is around 85-95%.

This is with High settings in DCS, and Default navidya settings.

 

But since i have only 16GB ram heavy missions/multiplayer have problem. I willl soon upgrade to 32GB.

 

So my suggestion, 32GB ram is a must, If you have some extra money to spend, then spend it on GPU.
