enigma6584 Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 Got a question for any of you; when you are setting up an AI flight to be an escort of say a bomber or an AWACS Flight, one can do that in the "task setting" for individual way-points and within that you set what group the AI Flight is to escort. There is also a setting regarding "Last Way-point." You can pick the last way-point for the tasking. Is that the way-point for the escorted group or the way-point for the AI Escort Flight? Anyone know? If I uncheck that command and not use the last way-point section, does that mean the AI Escort Flight will never leave the escorted flight?
ChuckIV Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 (edited) Last Waypoint The Last Waypoint is the last point that the following group will continue to follow their leader. After that they will need a new task or they will RTB. I don't use ESCORT; I just use follow and CAP I believe. Maybe ESCORT is working better than it has in the past. I think if you leave the LAST WAYPOINT box unchecked, it will default to that anyway. It's there so you can break off the escort sooner. Let us know anyone if I'm wrong on this. Blech Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 (edited) Hi, See @ChuckIV Here is an example for Follow or Escort in combination with Switch Waypoint Pic 1 Escort The F16`s will escort the tanker to the tanker`s waypoint 2 (waypoint 3 is landing in Abu Musa) Pic 2 Switch Waypoint After leaving the tanker at the tanker`s waypoint 2 the F16`s will switch to waypoint 1 of their own route and land at waypoint 2 Siri #### Edit : Better example with tanker waypoint 1 Edited December 30, 2019 by Blech
