Hi,

I was using the ME to make an A-G training mission with AKGs in MAN MITL mode using Route Points RPs 1-3. The difficulty I had was with getting the AKG to look in the general direction of the target after the last RP(3) since steering the weapon is quite difficult.

I'm curious to know how the AKG actually navigates the RPs - what does its flight path behaviour look like in plan view, like when does it turn to head to the next RP. This is so I know how to position the RPs to cause the AKG to face the general direction of the target after the last RP. (I guess TacView would be a good tool to show its flight path.)

Alternatively, I suppose I should just put the last RP very near the target so that regardless, the AKG should be looking in the direction of the target after the 2nd last RP(2).

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: In F6 view, it appears the missile simply turns quite abruptly to head towards the next RP so having the last two RPs in a straight line with the target should ensure the missile faces the target (after the last RP) but it doesn't seem to always turn out that way. Placing the last RP very near the target doesn't quite work since the MITL/TV turns on about 2km before the last RP leaving little time to steer and acquire target. And by the way, you can lock the target during the MITL/TV phase with TDC depress.
