worldsurfradio Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 I found this from another poster in an archive online. Copied and pasted it - did just like it says, and ended a lot of frustration. For a long time LOMAC was a real frustrating problem for me, but after a total re-install for the umpteenth time this finally worked. Thank You whoever you are who wrote the original - it sorted out my DLL Hell ======================== try this: go into the LockOn folder (usually C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On), check the menus at the top of the folder window and find one called "Folder Options" (I think). In there go through the tabs til you find one with a long list of checkboxes and options etc. Find an option that says something like "Hide extensions for known file types", disable it and hit "OK". It may already be disabled but check first. I'm not sitting at my XP machine just now on 2000 Pro at work so can't be exactly sure of the above but it's not far from what i describe. Now to create the file. In the Lock On folder, hit the "File" menu, go into "New" and hit "Text Document". This will create an empty text file with a .txt extension. Rename the file to "lockon.exe.local" (without the quote symbols). That should do what you want it to, although I've never heard of having to do this, normally if an app finds a dll in the same folder as itself it should use that one automatically, I could be wrong there tho.
