Hi,

This is going to be a bit of a rubbish report, but here goes...

1) We know the RADAR to be FUBAR right now. The last couple of flights I tested it with I did not pick up a single thing, even an AWACS 6 miles off the nose, co-altitude.

2) RWR keeps dropping contacts, and reporting contacts of the wrong type.

I had a weird RWR contact earlier saying [FA_]. Uhh? There was no such unit in the entire mission.

For the first time that I'm aware of, the RWR actually showed RADAR missiles tracking me, but these were intermittent at best (i.e. did not show all launches against me).

At about the point the RADAR should have been showing me something, the contacts I had on RWR disappeared. They re-appeared shortly afterwards, but kept jumping about. I know the contact updates jump, but they are supposed to rotate smoothly when turning??

E3A that is in the mission disappeared off RWR after a while for no reason.

If RWR is power-cycled, it seems to lose all contacts it detected previously, even though they never stopped emitting. It took nearly 5 minutes for them all to return.

The JF-17 is not better than the F-16; it's different. It's how you fly that counts.

FA stand for UNKNOWN type of contact, if U could identify the source of the transmission, plz tell us so that can be added to the database.

RWR have a display limitation of MAX 20 contacts, so it will rank the threat level of all emitting source and show the top 20 targets, so some contact may be dropped and showed as the emitting radar scan/track status changed or high rank contact drop to a low rank status.

I have less than 20 units total.

I have Tawara, Stennis, E3A, Su-27 in the mission. Also a KC-130 but AFAIK it doesn't emit anything that would appear on RWR.

I'll check for anything else but this should be all.

I've only seen FA once in this mission.

I'll have a fly around and see if I can get it to appear again.

I flew around for a couple of hours and everything looked OK.

I have discovered why some RWR targets such as AWACS disappear momentarily: the AWACS has a problem in that the scan area tilts with the aircraft in roll.

This might explain why AWACS periodically calls CLEAN when called for hostile information because in a turn it can't see anything.

Yep, AWACS can not use their radar if the bank angle is over certain limitations.

I think you can ignore this report - I have flown several times since and all seems to be operating as expected. Not sure what caused the glitch previously.
