ThunderChief Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 As BS seems to be very realistic overall I wonder how the HUD behaves when you change your position in the cockpit (up/down/left/right) ? I think in reality there is only one point (or axis) in the cockpit where the HUD and the pilots eyes are correctly aligned. As I noticed that I often change my heads postion while playing, the HUD might become out of place sooner or later. But as I understand it there will be a HMS for aming so this shouldn't be to much of a problem anyway...
GreyStork Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 If you watch the very end of Producer's note #1, you'll see that the HUD actually is 'ground stabilized' regardless of your viewing angle. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] - Study flight sim geek since Falcon 3.0 -
Weta43 Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I don't know how it's dealt with in BS - I guess ground stabalising it would do, (not saying that's what they've done), but if I understand it right the real thing is arranged so that it appears to be about 15 feet out in front of the hud, which would mean that it wouldn't move very much relative to the ground if you moved off center, but would move some small amount. (& from going away & watching the cockpit footage at the end of the 'Edge' video, that's what it looks like is happening - that the image is som distance in front of the plane.) Cheers.
RedTiger Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 This is a good topic, one that I was going to start sooner or later. I recently purchased MS CFS3 to take advantage of all the mods out there for it. Its my first expirience in having more than 3DOF with TrackIR. I find that the side to side motion throws things out of wack after a while. I have to re-center often or risk having my tracers converge somewhere other than the center of the gun sight. I'm hoping BS doesn't have any problems like this.
