I'm loving the viper and recently wanted to test out the gbu 12s but there was no steerpoint for the target area (or in the flight plan already so I could not create a new one). So I just set the tgp to boresight mode and then used tms up to lock it in place after I had the nose pointed at the target area. After finding a target and switching to point track mode, I found that the bomb steering line was saying I was lined up on target when I was really pointed 180 degrees away from it. When I actually flew toward the target the steering line was fully deflected left or right as if I were pointing away from it. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Kevin

At this stage unless you have a steerpoint set up prior in the ME then what you are attempting does not work. Add several waypoints somewhere in the ME and then select one in the aircraft. The TGP will slave to it and then you can slew it or bore sight it like you are doing and when you designate a target it will put the steerpoint on that target and give accurate CCRP cue. Hopefully this behavior will be addressed soon as more features and fixes come.

Well that doesn’t work any more. In the begin Before the updates you can select a steer point and the targeting pod would slow to steer point but now that function doesn’t work.

I have tried to set hud to soi and then select next steer point and then use Targetingpod to soi but that goes to bore sight ????

It's been working by staying in Nav Mode with the TGP not displayed on a MFD, select the target waypoint and bring up the TGP on the MFD, it will be slaved to that steerpoint. Then you can slew around for precise targeting.

I tried everything but my tgp does not slave to the steerpoint! I do something wrong here. I have set 8 steerpoints nearby targets. In flight I can switch between steerpoints but my tgp doesn't go to steerpoint!

What do i do wrong mis I something or...

It's working for me, please provide a saved track of what your doing.

Or exact steps so others can help.

Make sure if using a axis mini stick, it has a little dead zone so it's not slewing the TGP around or away by itself.

Ok, finally I figured out. You have to go out of AG in NAV switch to next or previous steerpoint and then switch back to AG after that the TGP is slewing to target. Well I hope in the near future it would become the same as in the A-10C.
