104th_Money Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 I have read the .pdf manuals and can find nothing about changing HUD except for color. Are there any key commands for changing speed from IAS to TAS or GAS and for changing altimeter from baro to radar? Are there any key commands for changing speed from IAS to TAS or GAS and for changing altimeter from baro to radar? On the first part- no. As far as changing from baro to radar alt- I *think* the US aircraft automatically switch to radar altitude when below either 1500 or 1000 feet. Russian switch to radar (within a meter) @ 1.5 km or lower. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
Brit_Radar_Dude Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 I think Konkussion is correct about the automatic change to radar alt. Don't forget that if you are banking at a large angle you will lose the radar alt (in both US and Russian I think) since its antenna isnt pointing directly enough at the ground and it'll swap back to baro. That can lead you to fly into the ground if you are not careful.... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum....
