Scofflaw
Took me a bit of digging. You'll have to edit these two settings and play with the numbers a bit to figure out what works best for your resolution. 1. Open C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Config\View\SnapViewsDefault.lua Look for SnapViews["Ka-50"] [13] = {--default view viewAngle = 89.777542,--FOV Edit this, I put 120 hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -15.592758, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, 2. Open C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Config\View\Server.lua ViewSettings["Ka-50"] = { Cockpit = { [1] = {-- player slot 1 CockpitLocalPoint = {3.188000,0.390000,0.000000}, CameraViewAngleLimits = {20.000000,120.000000}, Edit this. I set 120 to 160 and it made the FOV much wider. CameraAngleRestriction = {false,60.000000,0.400000}, CameraAngleLimits = {140.000000,-65.000000,90.000000}, EyePoint = {0.090000,0.000000,0.000000}, limits_6DOF = {x = {-0.020000,0.350000},y ={-0.150000,0.165000},z = {-0.170000,0.170000},roll = 90.000000}, edit - make backup of both LUAs, or just make a copy of the lines you edit within the LUA and comment them with a -- Edited April 28, 2020 by Scofflaw run come save me

Hunter_5E
Try putting those files into C:\Users\YourName\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View and editing them in there. Works for me from there.

Hunter_5E
You're welcome. I hope it works for you. One thing to bear in mind is that some user missions will override your view settings. Make sure to test your settings in single player campaign or make a simple test mission if you are having this problem in a user mission. If you're flying in an online server and your view setting are overridden, there's nothing you can do about that. If you are hosting the mission yourself or playing single player, you can fix the mission to stop it overriding your view settings. To fix a downloaded mission's view settings do this:- Rename the mission file to a .zip file and open it up in winzip/winrar or whatever. Go into the config\view folder and remove the server.lua file and then rename the mission file back to a .miz. Gpruitt54
I am having an issue with the KA50 default view out of the cockpit. The default cockpit view is far too close. For the KA50 specifically, in the ../aircraft/KA50 folder there is no views.lua file. With most, if not all DCS aircraft there are views.lua files where FOV settings may be changed. How does one go about making adjustments to the KA50 default FOV on the KA50??? Edited August 30, 2020 by Gpruitt54
Hunter_5E
You need to edit the file "Server.lua" within your C:\Users\Name\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View folder. If it doesn't exist in there, copy the one from your main \DCS World\Config\View folder, put it in there and edit it with Notepad++. Paths will be different if you are running open beta of course but you get the idea. See the screenshot below for how to edit. (Windows notepad breaks the coding) Unfortunately the max value you can put in for view angle is only 140 and with full triple screens that still doesn't zoom you out enough - see screenshot 1, full triple screens at 5940 x 1080, aspect 5.5. Still too far zoomed in. I'm guessing this view is what you see? I set mine up to display on only 1/3 of left and right monitors and put my Helios on the outer 2/3's - see screenshot 2, 5940 x 1080, aspect 5.5 but modified view area. Works well for me as (1) I can zoom to where I want, (2) it gets rid of the bad stretching on the outer 2/3's of left and right screens and (3) I don't have a fourth monitor for Helios. Good all round compromise for me. Edited September 1, 2020 by Hunter_5E

emc
Hi, I move form single screen to triple 3x27"" 2560x1440. And of course I have FOV issue with one huge 1camera view - "to close to HUD or massive distortion of sideviews" Last night I got idea, but I decide to ask if anybody. So did anyone try run DCS with 3 portraits displays so instead of 7680x1440 do 4320x2560 So yo can get extra vertical space and better aspect for portraits 13.5:8 (close to 16:9) then 16:3 for landscapes. Of coures you got 2 monitors' frames closer together, so thats way I'm asking beforem move all my screens and cables sideways....
