I'm flying on a 2560x1080 ultra wide monitor with an aspect ratio of 21:9. DCS has the ratio set to 2.33333 which I believe is correct. When panning around in external view everything appears to be normal, the problem in when I'm in the cockpit view, the edges of the screen are stretched. If I'm flying next to a B-17 and looking straight ahead with the B-17 just visible on the side of my screen the plane looks very stretched. Is this just a matter of zoom level, is there a FOV setting for the cockpit view I can adjust?

I'm fairly new to DCS, however I can say I have the same issue. I have 3 1920 x 1080 HD monitors. Windows is configured to use 3 monitors, no Nvidia stretching. Setup in DCS Options as 5760x1080. DCS shows 5.333 aspect ratio, that's good. I know your using just one monitor, however this might help you? Same here, with 3 monitors. External it's all fine, in cockpit the left and right screens are distorted just like your indicating.

The conditions for all my test including monitors, option/graphics setting, etc is the Instant Action->NTTR->F/18-C->ready on the ramp. Also to mention my hardware is currently old school, even with that being said I manage to run DCS pretty consistently at 40-60 FPS. I capped the setting to 40 FPS in the autoexec.cfg file.

Just sharing my observations for now, if could find a fix for it I would post that also. Anyway, maybe this will at least let you see what I could determine. One using the Option '1 Screen' and the other using the '3 Screen' monitor settings.

Options->Monitor->1 Screen (1 camera/viewport) :

o the center screen looks normal as far as FOV and scaling, however...

o the HUD and MFD's text is fuzzy and hard to read

o the Left and Right views are stretched getting worse toward the outsides

o F2/outside views do look normal though, no distortion on left or right displays

o FPS is 40 parked and ready on the ramp

Now I set Options->Monitor->3 Screen (3 cameras/viewports) :

o center screen looks fine as before, however...

o the HUD and MFD's text is tack sharp and easier to read

o the Left and Right views look normal with no issues seen

o F2/outside still good

o here is my biggie, still just parked on the ramp my FPS dropped all the way down to ~19

I'm still working on learning DCS in and out not to mention learning the Hornet. So I'm kind of stuck on the 1 Screen option for now and just deal with the side distortion unless there is something I'm not doing properly. The thing is, if the external view looks normal and only the inside cockpit view is distorted on the outer displays... maybe there is a setting some where for the outer FOV and aspect? Xplane is a LOT easier to setup multiple monitors.

If you find out anything more, please chime in. And I'll do the same.

Cheers
