Hi,

I can't remember now if I was in the Jeff, so I'll ask a different question...

Flying in MP, my friend is flying the F-18C.

He decides to take a shot at me (I think -120B but could be 9X).

He fires at my tail from a couple of miles (evil friend).

I have no RWR missile launch alert.

Am I correct in thinking I should have?

In the Jeff I thought she had rear-looking sensors for this.

I'm thinking F-18 should similarly alert if fired upon? I'm not sure if F-18 has capability for rear-aspect IR launch detection.

My question is about Jeff however. :) I flew too many aircraft this week...

Thanks!

The JF-17 is not better than the F-16; it's different. It's how you fly that counts.

F-18 do not equip MAWS, so if being fired upon from the tail, only the radar guided missile will trigger the alarm.

JF17 equip a rear direction MAWS, so if MAWS detect a missile incoming(no matter the type) or RWR detect a missile launch, you will get a alarm in the cockpit.
