bavella1 Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 (edited) I have problems with trimming the Blackshark: Usually you can make further joystick entries in a trimmed situation and continue flying "from the trim". For example, you set a certain forward trim when starting (usually by hover check) so that the helicopter hovers without a hover function. From this flight position we then go on a cruise. To illustrate, I also use RStrg-Enter to show the axes. The problem: Every now and then it happens that the trimmed joystick position is practically "frozen". This means that the diamond in the axis display can no longer be moved from the spot, even with the joystick axis fully deflected. Pressing the Trim button again does nothing. It seems to me to be a feature and not a bug, because trim reset cancels the whole thing. Then the helicopter usually pitches up because trim reset brings all simulated axes back to the zero position. What am I doing wrong? Respectively - what haven't I understood correctly yet? Edit: It´s HOTAS Warthog and this are the settings from the special-section: Edited April 30, 2020 by bavella1
electricaltill Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 In the trimmer mode you have selected, following trimming, the joystick has to be returned to the neutral position before any further input will register. If you keep the trimmer pressed, inputs will still register.
bavella1 Posted April 30, 2020 Author Posted April 30, 2020 Don´t know if I understand what you mean with "trimmer mode". The autopilotdampers are set as in chucks guide (picture below) and after releasing the trim-BTN I release the joystick into it´s center position.
electricaltill Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 (edited) Your OP screenshotted the options screen. That is the trimmer mode I'm talking about, but sounds like you are using the trim correctly. Not sure what the problem is, sorry. Edit: are you also releasing the rudder? Because you have to do that too in this mode. Edited April 30, 2020 by electricaltill
bavella1 Posted April 30, 2020 Author Posted April 30, 2020 That could actually be the case that I'm still on the pedals...! Thanks for the tip - I'll try it!
electricaltill Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 That could actually be the case that I'm still on the pedals...! Thanks for the tip - I'll try it!This is a side effect of the "rudder trimmer" option. I sometimes forget about it too if I'm honest.
WWBayonet Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 I've recently found a number of "conflicts". Ex. If turn to tgt button is on, you'll be fighting that. If Route mode is on, you'll be fighting that. I've found this helo flies like a manhole cover when trying to fly by the seat of your pants but flies like a dream with a flight plan installed and using as much autopilot(Route mode) as possible.
fudabidu Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 Easy: change the trimming mode in the options to "default" "Central Stick Trimmer Mode" locks your controls after trimming until you center the joystick again. "Default" doesn't do that. When using rudder pedals you probably want to disable the rudder trim.
